The Faculty of Education seeks to appoint an IT System Administrator to join our Front-Line Services team.
The Faculty is one of the largest groups of educational researchers and teacher educators in the country and is a vibrant and very active academic community.
The IT/AV office provides the IT and AV services and infrastructure for the Faculty and, as such, is a key and highly visible service.
We are looking to appoint an IT System Administrator to join our busy team, which provides first and second line IT support to customers across the Faculty. The System Administrator’s role is to manage computer software systems, Window and Linux servers, and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level / Level 6 vocational qualification or have an equivalent level of practical experience. The ability to prioritise, communicate effectively and demonstrate recent experience in delivering an IT service is essential. Evidence of working at a tactical or operational level to deliver a technology change is desirable.
Please note that there may be a requirement for some weekend and out of hours working as part of maintaining the service.
