The IT Department is looking to recruit a friendly, dedicated, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join a team of system administrators. IT Systems Administrators are part of the Applications and Development team and are responsible for the support, maintenance, configuration and upgrades of over 15 clinical IT systems used within the trust.
The ideal candidate should:
Have experience of having worked in an NHS setting, preferably an acute hospital
Have an understanding of hospital processes and the importance of maintaining clinical applications
Have experience in supporting applications within a clinical environment
Have very good trouble shooting and investigative skills
Have an eye for details and be able to think outside the box
Be an excellent communicator and have excellent customer care skills
Be process driven and able to follow instructions
Be flexible, responsible and show a positive approach towards challenging situations
Although the Applications and Development Team operates on standard office hours, the IT applications are used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week therefore on occasions, you may be required to work unsociable hours to ensure patient safety and business continuity.
The IT Department is a very high pressured environment. This factor should be considered when applying for this post.
